One of the biggest trends we are coming across in the 2020’s using VJ Panels for your laundry splashback. This is a bit of a tricky trend as not all wall panelling is designed to get wet so you need to be careful what you use as a laundry splashback.
Below we will give you some tips and examples of using VJ Panels for your next laundry splashback.

First up we have this laundry renovation by @jessosheadesigns which I love.
It has everything you could want in a laundry renovation with those gorgeous shaker style cabinets, the farmhouse sink, encaustic pattern floor and lastly the use of VJ Panels all over the laundry and splashback.
If you aim to have a laundry like this always use a designer to get a finished result like this.

Like a few of the laundries on the list, the key to making the most out of your laundry using VJ Panels is to work with them.
This laundry renovation by @the_coastalhamptonshome takes those warm soft VJ Panels and hits you with subtle features that just go with them.
Look at the under-mounted sink which is so practical and that wood shelving that has a brushed brass drying bar underneath it to show this room is beautiful but also complimentary.

Everything about this laundry renovation by @firstsenseinteriors is bold and classic.
It’s one of those laundry renovations you see in person and you think wow.
It stays away from anything ultra-modern while all the time keeping with its classic themes such as the farmhouse sink and raw/iron style fittings and accessories scattered throughout the laundry renovation.

Come on this is one of those laundries you are just dying to have. @frontporchproperties have created such a beautiful laundry from that decorative cabinetry, VJ panels, long bar shelving and farmhouse sink just to name a few.
What I love about this laundry is the dedication to making it look incredible with no detail left to chance. How can you not love this laundry renovation?

Some would say an all-white laundry is boring but baby this is not your mummas all-white laundry.
This gorgeous laundry by @allthings.ash uses wall panelling on the splashback to break up the normal white feature and give you a softness that goes well with those gorgeous taps and ceramic sink.

One of my fav’s laundry renovations this @vacayco laundry uses VJ Panels for the laundry splashback but is bold enough to make it a contrast by painting them a dark shade which makes pop so beautiful against the white benchtop and white walls.
If you are looking to make the panels more of a feature the contract paint colour is the way.

The most gorgeous part of this @haausdesign laundry is the use of a wood shelving as a feature.
Not only practical the wood shelving which contrasts so well with the all-white laundry is a masterpiece of the space.
Combined with that brass tapware and the under-mounted laundry sink you can tell this was really well put together with no cost wasted.

This @huntingforgeorge laundry renovation below is on the darker side which works with the space.
You can see from the darker-than-white VJ Panels and darker cabinetry the theme of the space all works well including the chrome mixer.
I love the modern take on this laundry renovation in comparison to the other laundry renovation you can see below.

With this @bianca.pert laundry renovation below the approach is a little more cautious.
If you are not 100% comfortable with having VJ panels as your laundry splashback you can always break up the first 200mm/300mm of the splashback with tiles and put panelling on top of the tiled splashback to take any water splashing against it.
What I actually love about this style is it makes the panels pop more as the horizontal tiles are such a contrast.

My final tip when it comes to using VJ Panels on your laundry splashback is to get the right type.
Only use wall panels that are waterproof or water-resistant and also use the right type of paint because it is important for the longevity of the panels in the wet room that you make sure everything will last.
We all have a love for grout alternatives such as wet walls and the VJ Panels (TIMBER-CLAD WALLS) which are covered below for your next bathroom renovation.
Now in Perth and the rest of Australia VJ panel bathrooms are not as popular as I would like but times are changing and VJ Panels are going in bathrooms, laundries and toilets.
