4 Modern Laundry Splashbacks

When it comes to splashback options the world is your oyster. As trends change so quickly I am always hesitant to do trend posts as you could wake up tomorrow and people could really hate or moved on from what you have suggested only the month before. 
 
For laundry splashbacks, my philosophy is always to go for broke so I am all for any new trend you can get. I am responsible for my suggestions though and below are some really stunning but practical laundry renovation splashbacks I would suggest for your next laundry splashback tiling and one cheeky addition that is not tiling. 
 

Small Square Tiles

Oh baby these tiles are booming right now, we are not talking about 200mm x 200mm tiles that were big in the 2000’s we thinking smaller like 75mm x 75mm or 100mm x 100mm sometimes but not always with a little bit of damaged look about them.

Vertical Stack Bond 

Often hard to understand what this is called unless you deal with it all the time but really all it is as you can tell from the photos is long tiles laid up and down in straight lines. The most popular style this is laid in is the small mosaic type tiles called Kit Kat tiles or just with a long white tile like in the examples below.

Herringbone

Herringbone tiling is nothing new or crazy to tell anyone but the variations of what you do the herringbone tiling is taking off. The mosaic size is becoming more popular, as well as handmade finishes or lastly, the use of different grout finishes to make the pattern explode in front of your eyes.

Using VJ Panels for your splashback or laundry splashback can definitely be done. There is a growing trend for less grout so using VJ Panels as your a splashback can be so much more appealing as we all hate cleaning. There are a few things you need to know about this but we cover it all HERE.

So there you have the 4 Modern Laundry splashbacks. Your new splashback will be one of the last parts to be installed in your new laundry renovation, so you will have an opportunity once your cabinets and benchtop have been installed to maybe change your mind so it can be stressful. Once they’re fitted, you can assess the overall look of your new laundry, which can be difficult to visualise in the planning stages.
