Before and After – Shower Baths

Shower baths are not the most loved bathroom item but often are installed for a specific purpose. This may be due to the feeling of needing a bath or wanting to make space for a larger vanity. It really is the type of renovation where you want to be sure of what you want. This day and age if the single reason for having a shower bath is to have a bath we can work around this with a modern wet room which I will show in the last example. Most shower bath renovations are purpose based. This means you only have one if you are trying to gain space or install a toilet.

When you do a niche sometimes a simple contrast can make it stand out and make it look awesome. Shower over baths do not always look the most appealing but solid feature walls can break it up.

Mt Richon Bathroom Renovation

Most small bathrooms we do that want a bath are usually the shower bath set up. In this case it was the use of the added toilet that changed the layout to have the shower over the bath instead.

Mt Pleasant Bathroom Renovation

Probably one of the smallest renovations we have done, simply by picking one tile you can increase the appeal of a bathroom.

*Note – Owner for this renovation wanted to brick up a second doorway into the room and make use of a wall to wall feature. She elected for a high drop in bath for relaxation and easier to cleaning option.

Leeming Bathroom Renovation

What I love about this leeming bathroom is the much better use of space. The shower bath set up allowed for a larger bathroom.

The owner for this bathroom renovation in Riverton WA wanted to install a toilet instead of having a separate shower. A second toilet was a bigger priority in the house due to it being a 4 x 1.

Shower baths are not everyone’s cup of tea. The feelings of getting in and out of something high can be tricky and a little slippery. I find people install them for function over style so it’s important to try and nail both if possible. All this is to say renovations have a purpose and if your purpose is to gain something such a toilet then why not sacrifice a walk in show and hey if you love a shower bath then definitely install one its something you have to live with every day so don’t listen to what other people tell you. Renovate to your needs and wants not the needs and wants of others.
