Probably the most common type we install in a  bathroom is an all-in-one unit that combines the heater, lights and exhaust fan. They are perfect for small bathrooms since they don’t take up any floor or wall space.

Against All Walls

Another option for bathroom heating is the wall-mounted heater, also known as a panel heater. These heaters can be installed against the wall, but a unit built into the wall will save space in the bathroom and look like an integral part of the bathroom rather than just an add-on heater.

The second option though can be quite extensive work to get into the room. The downside of the style below is often just the look of them but work quite well.

 

Underfloor Bathroom Heating 

One form of bathroom heating that is becoming more and more popular is underfloor heating for bathrooms.  Underfloor bathroom heating needs to be installed when the concrete slab is being poured so it is best for new homes or extensions.

This type can be installed after you remove your floor tiles when you’re renovating your bathroom.  Undertile heating will warm your tiles, but will not warm the room that much. Heated Towel Rails

I love heated towel rails as they often function in two ways. They radiate gentle heat into the room and also heat and dry your towels. A warm towel may be all you need to motivate you to step out of that shower on a cold morning.

You will get two choices when it comes to this style

1. is to have it with a plug which is like above or hard-wired like below. Hardwiring is often more expensive so it’s important to take that into consideration. One last thing to consider with the heated towel rails is to install them away from the eye line of a shower head on a hose to no one accidentally sprays it.

For larger bathrooms, consideration of how effective the heater will be across the space should be the focus of attention, while for smaller rooms the best place for the heater which takes up the least space may be the more important factor.

The type of bathroom heating that you choose will depend on the amount of heat that you need and the budget that you have.  For example, if you’re on a tight budget, a heat lamp can be more than enough for a small bathroom as they are cheaper to install and not too expensive to run compared to underfloor heating. 

Furthermore, if your budget is on the higher end why not incorporate multiple single-bar heat rails like the example below to add luxury to your bathroom design or renovation.

Additionally, if you only need gentle heating, however, a heated towel rail may be more than enough. It’s important to consider how much you are going to use it before making any decisions.
