If you are looking for bathroom waterproofing Perth advice, or more information on waterproofing your Perth bathroom you have come to the right place. Bathroom waterproofing is probably the single most important part of your next bathroom renovation.
In Perth WA bathroom waterproofing only became a legal requirement in the very early 2000’s so anything pre-2000 has no waterproofing or very poor waterproofing at best.
HOW LONG SHOULD BATHROOM WATERPROOFING DRY
The key to bathroom waterproofing drying comes down to two factors, one being the temperature around the time you did it, as the colder days usually require another 24 hours on top of the 24 hours recommended for bathroom waterproofing membrane drying.
The other is a condition of the surface before your membrane. If you have severe water damage before you re-do the waterproofing membrane it needs to be bone dry before you touch it.

What is the best bathroom waterproofing membrane?
The best bathroom waterproofing membrane I have ever used is the LIQUID FLASH by construction chemicals which can be found Australia-wide. I
have used this waterproofing membrane on probably over 1000 bathrooms and I personally have found it to be the best waterproofing membrane for a bathroom and would say it is the best bathroom waterproofing around.
CAN I WATERPROOF MY OWN BATHROOM?
So whether you can waterproof your own bathroom in Australia depends on where you live. In places such as Queensland and New South Wales, you need to be licenced to do waterproofing on your bathroom but in places like Western Australia, you do not need to.
So can you waterproof your own bathroom?
Well, you can if you are legally allowed to but what I will say is that you really should have a tiler or a person who has done many of these.
Bathroom waterproofing is more of an art to making sure you don’t have loose bits underneath your waterproofing or understand the drying component or the primer needed to waterproof a bathroom effectively so do not risk it.
Small bathrooms can be annoying plain and simple.
A lot of the bathrooms we renovate in Perth have are ensuites or main bathrooms on the smaller side and our clients are often frustrated trying to make this space the best it can be.
