When it comes to making a disabled bathroom or a mobility accessible bathroom you want it to diffidently to be practical but in modern times you also would love this bathroom to look nice.
Let me guide you though on how to make your disabled bathroom look nice and modern with four easy steps below.

1. Make It Open But With A Glass Less Shower
My friends I am all about the glassless showers. I have cleaning shower screens it the most annoying part of life and taking pictures of bathrooms.
Cleaning shower screens is super time consuming and definitely not great for someone who already might have issues with trying to get around.
So my number one tip is to create what I call a glassless shower screen or another named is a bricked shower wall.

As the examples below show you the bricked shower wall is open for any wheelchair access but also practical for a person who likes a bit of privacy.

2. Double Showers Are Perfect Outlets For Disabled Bathrooms.
Modern bathrooms are full of double showers so why should your modern disability bathroom be any different.
So when I talk about double showers what I am referring to is the use of a over head ceiling shower for someone sitting back from the wall in a chair.

Secondly the outlets that makes it the double is the hand held device for anyone with a carer to use or if you do not want to get your hair wet.
The double shower is a modern concept and will make your better mobility bathroom so much more appealing with also being practical.

3. Ditching Tradition Towel Rails
Honestly I can not tell you the amount of times I have run into a bulky towel rail sticking out the wall. I am just clumsy I can only imagine if I had mobility issues how annoying this would be.
My solution is the same I give for small bathroom as it is for disability bathrooms its get rid of those bulky towel rails and embrace the robe hook or vertical towel rail rage.
Robe hooks are exactly as they sound, little high or low hooks for handing towels easily.
Additionally vertical towel rails especially heated vertical towel rails are the most modern concept for the mobility issued renovator or person trying to get the most out of there small bathroom.
4. Bricked Shower Seats Are Kings For Disabled Bathrooms
I love a bricked shower seat, for me they are super practical, give you a great feature and work for anyone with mobility issues.
Instead of having to use moldy plastic chairs or the inconvenience of lugging it in and out the bricked shower seat is perfect for a disabled modern bathroom layout.
Of course shower seats have there issues but with the steps implemented above you will be able to create a shower seat bathroom that is perfect to match your bathroom.
Final Thoughts
Finally if you are trying to get the most out of your bathroom design and are needing to make your bathroom more mobility friendly or looking for a modern disabled bathroom my four tips should help you out.
Remember easier to clean is great, double showers are modern and heated vertical towel rails add a little bit of luxry but also work as a grab rail in certain designs.
Just because you have a disability does not mean you have to have an ugly bathroom so take the steps above and ask yourself what you want and understand how you will use the space.
